I’d like to see a forum here to comment on the current news, particularly as it’s being read over the air.
I wanted to leave a comment for the on–air news editor and found you have register to leave a comment on the main page.
I tried calling the station but the woman who answered the phone was busy and/or having a bad day; to say she was terse would be very polite.
Ay any rate, here goes.
The news reader did a story on Roman Polanski and his extradition proceedings, and described him as "having had sex with an underage girl."
Polanski gave the THIRTEEN YEAR OLD girl Quaaludes and alcohol, and then raped her three ways from sunday. This was NOT simply a case of statutory rape and to categorize it as such is to downplay the seriousness of the charges, and WILL ENCOURAGE IT FURTHER.
(and just so we are clear, anyone who disagrees should feel free to offer up their daughter/grand-daughter/sister).
